VERNACULAR
As the oldest and purest form of building, vernacular subjects around the world have remained a constant source of inspiration for artists and architects.
After two centuries the iconic Australian shearing shed, for so long part of a national identity, has finally reached its use-by-date. Health and safety laws have seen its use greatly restricted and inevitably the shearing shed has become a ready source of firewood.
This ongoing series depicting a variety of wool and shearing sheds is the result of a personal attempt to document their passing.
