MINUTIAE
The Australian eucalypt is extremely untidy in its habits and the resulting mess that litters the bush - fallen trees, branches and leaves, all in varying stages of decay - presents an overwhelming picture of graphic confusion.
All the elements of structure, surface and texture are there, in minutiae, to challenge the visual artist. At this level the problems of compositional organisation and balance are extremely rewarding.
Exhibitions resulting from this series were ‘The New Romantics’ and “The Wooden Wall’, 1987; ‘The Abercrombie River - Mt Werong to Wyangala’, 1992 and ‘Goodnight and the Isis’, 1993.
